John Hancock Expands Portfolio Management Team Of Closed-Ended Funds

John Hancock has appointed Joseph Bozoyan to the portfolio management team of its five New York-listed funds: Preferred Income, Preferred Income II, Preferred Income III, Premium Dividend and Tax–Advantaged Dividend Income.

Bozoyan has been with John Hancock Asset Management, which sub-advises the funds, since 2011.  He brings over 20 years' investment experience, during which he has held analyst positions at Evergreen Investments, RCM, and Sun Life.

He joins team head Gregory Phelps, who has served as portfolio manager of the funds for the past 20 years.

In other movements, Mark Maloney, currently portfolio manager of the funds, will be leaving the firm at the end of August.

Last month, John Hancock acquired Guide Financial, a California-based software provider aimed at advisors, for an undisclosed sum.
